A new PowerPoint presentation, "Advanced Virgina Workers' Compensation Issues," is now available on VirginiaLaborLaw.com. The presentation addresses issues including the exclusive remedy doctrine, employer defenses based on willful misconduct, and claims for wrongful discharge in retaliation for filing a workers' compensation claim. It includes citations to important recent decisions of the Virginia Workers' Compensation Commission and the courts on these issues.
