Save the Date - June 7, 2017 - Human Resources Law: What You Need to Know

On June 7, 2017, the National Business Institute will present a full-day seminar, “Human Resources Law: What You Need to Know,” in Norfolk, Virginia.  This will be a basic to intermediate level program designed for human resource professionals, executives, business owners, accountants, and attorneys.  Printed materials will be provided at the seminar, and the faculty will consist of experienced employment law attorneys including Ray Hogge.  The topics to be covered will include:

  • The Affordable Care Act - Compliance and Planning.
  • Is Your Employee Handbook Up to Date?  Essential Components and Sample Policies for Today’s Workplace.
  • Wages, Leave, and Employee Benefits - the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, ERISA, and More.
  • Discrimination and Harassment - Title VII, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other Federal and State Laws.
  • Employee Discipline and Discharge.
  • Workplace Behavior and Privacy Issues.
